Le Pen refused to seek Macron’s resignation if she wins parliamentary elections
Marine Le Pen, leader of the right-wing party “National Union” in the French parliament, refused to seek the resignation of French President Emmanuel Macron in case of her party’s victory in the extraordinary parliamentary elections. She said this in an interview with Le Figaro.
At the same time, the party leader noted that she “nothing will prevent her from running for president” in 2027.
On 11 June, Macron said he was not considering resigning from his post, whatever the result of the snap parliamentary elections.
A recent poll showed that about 36 per cent of French people are ready to vote for Le Pen’s party in the parliamentary elections.
