Another package of sanctions against Russia is slowed down by German authorities

EU permanent representatives on Friday failed to agree on new sanctions against Russia because of Germany’s stance, Politico reported.

“Berlin is concerned about extending a measure that would force EU companies to ensure their customers cannot sell sanctioned goods to Moscow,” the publication writes and explains that “Germany fears its small businesses would suffer if it were extended to civilian products such as chemicals or metalworking equipment.”
