Iran fired more than 300 rockets and drones into Israel. Why was the resulting damage assessed as insignificant?
Iran fired 185 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 36 cruise missiles and 110 surface-to-surface missiles into Israel overnight. Senior officials in Tel Aviv told The New York Times.
They noted that the UAVs and missiles were predominantly launched from Iran, but that launches from Yemen and Iraq were also recorded. Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement said it also participated in the attack.
The damage to Israel was deemed insignificant
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said that 200 Iranian missiles and drones resulted in minor damage to the Jewish state. According to him, most of the missiles and drones were intercepted by the Arrow long-range anti-missile system. In addition, aerial targets were destroyed by fighter jets. Most of this took place outside Israel.
